What is OSCRE?
The Open Standards Consortium for Real Estate (OSCRE) is the body responsible for the definition of international open standards in electronic property data.
These open standards allow the property software systems from many different manufacturers to share and exchange data with ease. They also eliminate the errors derived from rekeying.
Trace Solutions has made a significant investment to ensure that all our property management packages conform fully to the relevant OSCRE standards. We were one of the founder members of the initiative and our MD Mick Flynn currently sits on its board.
Open standards bring down costs
As more and more manufacturers adopt the standard, its power to bring down costs becomes apparent. One notable example is how the UK’s leading lease creation software for lawyers - from Landscape Software - can now export its data directly into any of Trace’s property management packages.
In the past, unskilled operatives would generally re-key vital lease information into the property management system; now all this critical data enters the system exactly as certified by the lawyers who wrote it.

Trace Solutions Sales Director Graham Davies said “OSCRE has fantastic potential to open up the market and bring down admin costs. No-one should be trapped inside proprietary data formats”.
