The Trace Group comprises four companies, who together turn over around £12m. Most of the Group’s 190 staff are based in central London.

Trace is an oddity amongst software companies; owned and run by our employees, we have a fantastically strong reputation for customer service. That reputation owes much to our founder, the refreshingly unorthodox business leader Richard Wolfe.

Established in 1974, the Group grew steadily to become a major PLC, listed on the London Stock Exchange. However, in 2007 Richard decided to hand the entire company over to the staff, in a contested management buyout which he led and helped fund.
