Wanted: Business Analysts

Junior to mid level

Salary: negotiable, subject to experience

Our continuing growth means we’re now on the lookout for two new Business Analysts, to join our market leading Software Innovation Team.

The successful candidates will be highly motivated, intelligent, inquisitive, and above all creative. Our web-based Mojo apps are reimagining the processes of property management, and as a Business Analyst you could help shape the future of the property management sector.

The Role

Successful candidates will be able to understand business requirements and translate them into business and technical proposals for new software.

You will work closely with our other analysts, developers and colleagues throughout Trace Solutions.

You will need a wide range of abilities – for example, the ability to specify requirements to developers who have no business/product knowledge. You will be involved in all stages of software development, from research, analysis, design and testing through to fault finding.

From time to time, you may be required to assist in sales presentations, provide consultancy (e.g. for system implementation), and work with customers to define requirements and business processes.

• Write and execute test plans.

• Internal and second line support.

• Product evangelist.

• Provide pre-sales support .

Personal

The individual should:

  • Be self-motivated, able to work both alone and collaboratively as part of a creative team.
  • Be able to combine creativity with practical application to produce attractive solutions.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with colleagues and clients, both in small and large forums. A key skill is to be able to engage the audience.
  • Be able to explain detailed and complex business problems to colleagues (e.g. software developers) who have little or no property management or accounting experience.
  • Be able to work under pressure, prioritise and meet agreed deadlines.
  • Be highly numerate and enjoy solving logical problems.
  • Be willing and able to take responsibility – demonstrating recent examples of this.
  • Display effort and application in achieving results; high level of initiative and productivity, keeping focused on the tasks in hand.

Business and technical

Experience in some of the following would be advantageous:

  • An understanding of Agile principles
  • The use or implementation of Property Management or Accounting systems.
  • An understanding of financial and property accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of Property Management and accountancy practices – either from a theoretical (best practice) or practical (everyday) perspective.
  • Knowledge of regulations governing Property Management (e.g., RICS etc.).
  • Ideally, knowledge of Trace TRAMPS/BlueBox/06ix (PM&A) functionality (although training will be given).
  • Knowledge of associated business issues, to ensure credibility with internal staff and customers of all levels.
  • A basic understanding of SQL management studio.
  • Competence in office software basics (MS Word, Excel and potentially other Microsoft Office products).
  • Some experience of JIRA or other project tracking software
  • Experience of automated testing software
