How One Housing solved the service charge problem
One Housing Director Mathew Saye talks about his experiences with service charges and Trace's unique solution
Thirteen, the largest Housing Association in the North East of England, has chosen Trace’s BlueBox software to manage service charges and rental calculations for its 34,000 properties.
In a competitive tender, BlueBox beat off competition from both traditional housing association systems and other commercial property software.
Thirteen is one of the most interesting and innovative Housing Associations in the UK. From its headquarters in the Tees Valley, it provides homes for rent, builds and sells new homes, and supports vulnerable people with thoughtful and effective services.
But the homes and support services are just the beginning. Over the next five years, the organisation plans to invest over £1billion to improve services, tenants’ homes and the neighbourhoods around them – as well as delivering affordable new homes.
Thirteen’s Rob Thompson, who led the tender process, said: “this innovative new solution will massively improve the way we set our rents and service charges. The team are very excited about the new software which will significantly improve our ability to make savings by reducing service charge deficits between costs and expenditure.”
